Free mulch from Master Gardener orchard

Free mulch is available from the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Orchard in North Las Vegas. It is coarse, organic wood mulch chipped from trees removed in the area. It will decompose in a couple of years, adding organic matter to your soil, lowering the soil pH and encouraging soil microorganisms and worms.

You can pick up as much as you want during orchard hours, which are mornings Monday through Thursday and on Saturday. It might be possible to have loads over 10 cubic yards delivered. The orchard is located at 4400 Horse Drive, at the base of the Sheep Range north of Las Vegas. More information from morrisr@unce.unr.edu or 257-5555.
